Matrox Imaging, which is distributed by the company i2S, launches a new generation of even more powerful smart cameras: the Iris GTX range.
Used as IoT devices, the new smart cameras are able to comfortably handle both traditional machine vision workloads as well as deep learning inference.
The new Matrox Iris GTX smart cameras incorporate a dual-core Intel x6000 series processor that triples the system's performance compared to its predecessor Iris GTR.
The new range uses faster and higher resolution CMOS image sensors, from 2 to 16 megapixels.
Combined with Matrox Design Assistant X software that enables application development simply by building flowcharts, the range is configurable and deployable quickly in harsh environments.
The Matrox Iris GTX smart cameras retain the same footprint and connectivity as the previous range. They are equipped with a robust IP67-rated housing and M12 connectors that allow them to operate in dusty, wet and severe conditions.
By offering the same mechanical footprint, connection options and software platform as the Iris GTR, Matrox Imaging makes it easy to extend or upgrade an existing system.
The Matrox Iris GTX range will be available in the third quarter of 2021.
