Opton Laser partner PicoQuan launches Luminosa, a brand-new system that makes quantitative time-resolved fluorescence microscopy accessible to a wider audience of scientists Luminosa takes advantage of the decades of experience of the PicoQuant teams in developing time-resolved fluorescence microscopes to take a new step towards an easier-to-use system without any compromise on sensitivity. The result is a real breakthrough, offering any researcher in molecular biophysics or structural biology the possibility of integrating single-molecule methods and time-resolved fluorescence microscopy into their toolbox. The Luminosa system includes a one-click automatic alignment procedure and intuitive context-based processes. For example, the system can automatically recognize individual molecules, or it can determine correction factors for Single Molecule Freight (smFret) automatically. For expert users, advanced flexibility is also available, offering access to all optomechanical components and customization of the graphical interface. Users can modify all experimental parameters themselves, such as adjusting the observation volume.
Luminosa integrates Flim, rapidFlimHiRes for fast processes, Flim-Fret, Single Molecule Freight (smFret), Fluorescence Spectroscopy (FCS), Anisotropy Imaging and Differential Interference Contrast (Dic).
