Cognex Corporation announces its “next generation” OmniView® 360 ° inspection system, now equipped with color functionality and high resolution 5 megapixel cameras. OmniView enables detailed inspection and verification of wine and juice bottles, canned goods, pharmaceutical bottles and other non-oriented cylindrical packaging, right on the production line. Running on Windows® 7 - 64-bit, OmniView technology inspects products at a rate of 1,200 pieces per minute, without disrupting bottling and packaging lines.

OmniView uses four cameras positioned around the conveyor to capture views from all sides of a product. A fifth camera can be added to confirm that the lid or cap matches the label on the package.

Extensive color capabilities : Now featuring color inspection, OmniView 5.0 allows manufacturing units to inspect color logos, verify that the lid and label colors match, and confirm the color of the bottle contents. It also offers operators an attractive color screen.

High resolution inspection : Thanks to its 5 megapixel cameras, OmniView can perform detailed inspections on slower lines. The high resolution can also be used to “image” large bottles in a single field of view, while maintaining sufficient resolution to clearly read Data Matrix codes or printed small.

OmniView version 5.0 also offers support for the GigE standard at the best price / performance ratio. "

The OmniView 5.0 Cylindrical Product Inspection System is supplied with:

  • OmniView application software with turnkey user interface;
  • Cognex VisionPro vision tools for product identification and inspection;
  • A set of calibration plates for 3D modeling;
  • A system of four or five cameras, monochrome or color.
