New PI200 optris completes fixed infrared camera series with innovative BI-SPECTRAL technology
"The new BI-SPECTRAL technology integrates two camera technologies into a fixed camera. The PI200 optris combines a thermal image, and by an additional optical path, a visible image. Thus both images are displayed in real time and are recorded for possible analysis" announces General Manager Dr. Ing. Ulrich Kienitz.
The integrated combination of a visible image (VIS) and a thermal image (IR), via a fixed camera, is an important step in the development of temperature measurement imaging systems. The PI200 optris is found in areas where so far only CCD cameras and thermal imaging cameras have been used. Examples of use are in storage wells, open-area fire detection, temperature monitoring of bulk goods on conveyor belts, or thermal monitoring of manufacturing processes.
The PI200 optris thermal imaging camera displays infrared images of up to 96 Hz (images per second) per 160×120 pixels. The synchronous real-time recording can go up to 32 Hz out of 640×480 pixels. The free and comprehensive PI Connect optris software allows for two modes of image display: monitoring mode and fade mode. The monitoring mode provides easy tracking of the measurement point thanks to the separate display of the two images. The fade mode highlights critical temperature areas by superimposing images.
With a size of only 45 x 45 x 62 mm, the PI200 optris continues the well-established range of the PI160 optris. Advanced interfacing such as extending USB cable up to 10 km (by fiber optics), camera process (PIF) interface with analog and digital E/S, as well as software interfacing by DLL, ComPort and LabVIEW, allows system designers easy integration into networks and automation.
