IDS Imaging Development Systems expands its range of cameras for artificial intelligence (AI) with its new IDS NXT oslo model. It combines AI and image quality, video streaming and recording functions in a compact, industry-appropriate housing - protected to IP69K, the highest level of protection against the ingress of dust and high-pressure water.
The centerpiece of the new camera is an Ambarella chip, already used in the IDS NXT malibu twin model. It enables full-resolution compressed video streams from the 5 MP sensor (H.264, MJPEG) at over 25 frames per second. Output is via RTSP protocol directly to the desired terminal, without the need for an additional PC for analysis or viewing. This makes the camera ideal for applications requiring live images, including AI-based overlays.
Thanks to ISP (Image Signal Processor), users also benefit from automatic functions such as brightness, lens distortion correction and color correction. Combined with the onsemi AR0521 photosensor, it guarantees excellent image quality, even in difficult lighting conditions.

As part of the complete IDS NXT AI system, IDS NXT oslo also offers components that fit together, from hardware to software. No technical knowledge of deep learning, image processing or programming is required.
