Coffmet : Cyril Aujard (Zeiss) elected new president

Coordinate measuring machine - Carl Zeiss AG

At its extraordinary general meeting on December 18, Coffmet (the French committee for training in three-dimensional measurement) elected Cyril Aujard, Industrial Metrology Director at Carl Zeiss France, as its new president for a two-year term. Cyril Aujard thanked his predecessor Daniel Jullien of Hexagon Metrology for the work accomplished since 2012, the year Coffmet was founded. Cyril Aujard strongly reaffirmed the association's objectives of promoting three-dimensional measurement through standardized, certifying training valid for all measurement technologies and internationally recognized by industrialists in the field of three-dimensional metrology.

Five years after its launch, over 800 training courses have already been given on three levels (level 1: use of 3D measuring machines; level 2: 3D metrology; level 3: expert 3D metrology), and the needs remain immense. It should be noted that these training courses are aimed at users and metrologists, as well as engineering, methods and quality department staff. Trained personnel are a guarantee of performance for companies, enabling them to communicate more easily between different departments, make better use of measurement equipment, increase the quality of finished products, improve processes, and so on. Quite simply, to be more competitive! Training is becoming an essential lever for the competitiveness of French industry...

Coffmet brings together the leading manufacturers of three-dimensional measuring machines: Faro, Hexagon Metrology, Mitutoyo, Renishaw, Werth and Zeiss, as well as Cetim and Cetim-Ctdec (technical center for mechanical industries) and Symop (professional organization - founding member of the Alliance industrie du futur - which brings together creators of industrial solutions).

Today, three-dimensional metrology is an essential component in mastering the manufacturing process for complex mechanical parts, whether for the automotive, renewable energy, medical, aerospace or rail industries. Well-trained personnel are a guarantee of reliability for customers, and an asset when it comes to supporting an often strategic move upmarket. "says Cyril Aujard, Coffmet's new president.
