Olympus Corporation ("Olympus") has announced the completion of the demerger of its Scientific Solutions Division into a wholly-owned subsidiary named Evident Corporation ("Evident"). This decision, taken after the sale of Olympus' imaging business, confirms the company's long-term strategy to consolidate its position as a leading player in the medical technology industry. The proposed demerger was first announced in June 2021. As a newly created wholly owned subsidiary, Evident, headquartered in Japan, will continue to operate independently under the auspices of Olympus. Olympus' Scientific Solutions division encompassed Olympus' industrial and life sciences businesses. The reorganization will give the division the autonomy and agility to respond quickly and more flexibly to the needs of industrial and life science customers.
