Industrial metrology: partnership between Hexagon and Yxlon

Hexagon Metrology and Yxlon International announce close cooperation to further optimize industrial metrology.

Créant de substantielles synergies pour faire avancer les techniques de mesure dimensionnelle et de radioscopie, cette coopération a pour objectif de développer les produits innovants que réclame l’industrie. Angus Taylor, président-directeur général de Hexagon Metrology Amérique du Nord, s’explique: « We intend to combine our efforts to provide new manufacturing solutions - focusing Hexagon Metrology's capabilities in measurement and control software and the advances provided by Yxlon International's X-ray and CT systems. In terms of metrology, these new solutions will give rise to cutting-edge tools that are essential for the manufacture of complex parts and assemblies, but which have been lacking until now. "

What's more, the cooperation between Hexagon Metrology and Yxlon International will combine the complementary strengths of the two world leaders. By focusing our strengths, we will enable our customers to continue to bring non-destructive testing and metrology closer together - whether in R&D, quality assurance, inspection or process validation. "explains Stefan Moll, Managing Director of Yxlon International. " By combining our high skills in CT imaging and fluoroscopy for non-destructive testing with Hexagon Metrology's experience in industrial metrology, we are able to develop the right solution for each of our customers, and implement it with maximum efficiency. "

This cooperation between Yxlon and Hexagon Metrology will result in technological advances including the ability to make dimensional measurements directly on voxel data obtained from Yxlon-CT systems. Operators will benefit from the integration of Hexagon Metrology's measurement software into all Yxlon-CT processes. This fusion of intelligent CT processes with extraordinary metrological capabilities will be presented for the first time at Control 2015.
