Heidenhain showcases new products at Global Industrie

Heidenhain - Electronics

At stand 4H150 at Global Industrie 2019, Heidenhain France will be presenting innovative solutions that help to improve the precision and reliability required at every stage. These solutions range from highly integrated systems to functions that link the various company departments involved in the process, enabling digital 100 % data exchange to optimize production.

New NC functions

Heidenhain's constant drive for innovation brings tools and functions to the company that make workshop work ever more user-friendly and efficient.

The "Connected Machining" group of functions will be in the spotlight on the Heidenhain stand, but also throughout the exhibition halls, with the "State Monitor" function for connecting from a desktop or tablet, for example, to all types of NC machines or PLCs, in the workshop or on another site, in order to monitor production data and improve productivity in real time. The company will be demonstrating this know-how with a simulation between its stand and 6 other partner stands, whose machines equipped with different NCs will be connected simply and efficiently.

The Global Industrie show will also be an opportunity to present some interesting new options and functionalities, including the ultra-fast touch screen on the new milling and turning NCs, and the new interface for a more complete display on a single screen, called "Compact extended workspace". In addition, it is now possible to simulate the complete machining space, with machine kinematics: in this way, the manufacturing process can be better controlled. The new optional "Batch Process Manager" machine mode enables production to be managed locally, reactively and securely, thanks to a hidden-time test (tool duration, preset, etc.), informing the operator of the time available before the next manual intervention. The German brand offers new cycles, including a turning finishing cycle on the TNC640, which can change the angle of attack on complex contours to ensure finishing in a single pass.

An ever-expanding range of encoders

To meet the demanding requirements of angular positioning, the SRP 5000 module features a Heidenhain angular encoder driven by an integrated Etel torque motor. The show will also be an opportunity for machine manufacturers to enhance their positioning projects with innovative motorization solutions.

Other new features to be discovered on the German brand's stand: in order to meet the needs of market applications requiring large center diameters, Heidenhain now combines its angular measurement systems with the Amo and RSF brands, thus completing the group's offering on its stand.
Each of these brands offers its own specifications and a wide range of precision grades.
The Amo brand, for example, presents its inductively scanned circular ribbons, renowned for their excellent resistance to contamination and their robustness.
In addition to Heidenhain's range of magnetically scanned ring encoders, the RSF brand recently presented a new generation of incremental or absolute optical encoders (MSR15).

New ND 7013 dimension displays: from position display to user interface

The new ND 7013 dimension display for conventional machine tools is much more than just a position display. It offers a host of useful functions and a customizable operator interface.
To start with, this meter is easy to use thanks to its high-end 7" TFT touchscreen for excellent readability, and can be operated with protective gloves. The meter can even be controlled remotely via a mouse connected to the USB port.
Individual setting options enable the machine builder or retrofitter to adapt the information display to the machine concerned and to the needs of the operator(s), with several profiles available simultaneously.
The home screen can be customized, and the operator's manual is integrated into the counter. Depending on how the display is used, status or error messages appear in full on the screen. It is also possible to control a machine component via an M function, or to use a KT 130 probe for part origination.
This compact meter offers a high level of protection against dirt and moisture. It is perfectly suited to all working environments, with a robust aluminum housing, a tempered glass front panel (usable with gloves) and a fanless passive cooling system.

High-performance control tools for validated production

To facilitate daily measurement tasks on profile projectors or measuring microscopes, the Quadra-Chek 2000 operating electronics is a robust, compact, all-in-one package that dispenses with the need for a Windows PC, and whose use is facilitated by interfacing with most brands of rulers. It offers true user-friendliness, with a graphic display of the part being measured, seamless security thanks to multiple profile management in a Linux environment, and Industry 4.0 compatibility via USB and Ethernet connections for company-wide networking, as well as numerous dedicated, intelligent and customizable functions.
You'll also discover the SCM module, which connects to "wired" probes to enable them to operate wirelessly, sending data via an OPC UA mode that is recognized by most acquisition electronics. In this way, it is possible to simultaneously analyze dimensional measurement information, as well as other integrated sensors such as temperature, atmospheric pressure or 3D accelerometer, for data monitoring lasting several hours, thanks to its USB connection for external battery.
