Produce, control, adapt

EPHJ -EPMT-SMT 2020 - Machine

ESPI announces the renewal of its partnership with high-precision machine tool manufacturer Bumotec, on the occasion of EPHJ 2019 (to be held from June 18 to 21, 2019 in Geneva). The two companies will be working more closely together on machine tool control, and visitors will be able to discover their solutions for improving the productivity of machinists.

Choosing the right production solution is the key to efficient, cost-effective production. Linking a machine tool to a control system that monitors and corrects production parameters without interrupting it, combines and guarantees efficiency and profitability right from the first part.

At the EPHJ show, visitors to stand A71 will be able to watch a machining demonstration of a watch link featuring the DPC solution (Dynamic Process Control) from ESPI, comprising a Scanflash machine to check for any machining drifts, and Tool'sDriver software for control, i.e. calculation of tool corrections and machine-tool set-up. On the Bumotec S181 milling/turning center, Tool'sDriver will be directly integrated into the machine's HMI (Human Machine Interface).

Demonstrations will illustrate the performance of ESPI's solutions on the Bumotec machine. ESPI's innovative, production-oriented 100 % solutions are more than just a means of control; they are recognized as genuine sources of productivity gains, enabling machining times to be increased. Through reactive production control, the DPC approach halves changeover times, eliminates set-up rejects and ensures dispersion-free production.

"Several dozen DPC solutions are used by aerospace and automotive parts manufacturers, prestigious watchmakers and well-known subcontractors in the precision mechanics sector. For these customers, the immediate availability of measurements, combined with the time saved in machine-tool set-up, have enabled a return on investment of well under 12 months, stresses Fabrice Moreau, Director of ESPI Switzerland.
