- The region's pharmaceutical industry is constantly strengthening its leadership position, with nearly 110 production sites employing over 16,300 people.
- The region's cosmetics and perfume industries occupy a more than respectable position, and if we include the perfumers of Provence, the industrial potential amounts to almost 400 production sites.
- France's leading chemical production region is Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It is home to almost 700 plants employing 32,000 people. Fine chemicals account for a substantial share of this industry, which still has many years ahead of it.
- The laboratory sector is vast and constantly evolving. The region ranks second nationally. Both large and small laboratories form an important part of this inter-regional industrial fabric.
