Henri Morel, Chairman of SFPI Group, was elected President of the Fédération des Industries Mécaniques at the FIM General Meeting on June 19, 2019, for a 3-year term. He wishes to build on the strategic thinking undertaken by FIM and its 24 unions to define a mechanical engineering trade organization of the future capable of supporting companies in their transformation and development. "I want our collective action to bring more added value to member companies and thus contribute to the development of their business and their strengthening in the world".he says.
Henri Morel, 62, a graduate in political science, business law (Maîtrise) and HEC (MBA), began his career in 1983 as Chairman of Dupeux (industrial thermics). After acquiring Deny in 1984, a year later he created SFPI Group (Safety for People and Industry), of which he is Chairman and CEO. Within this group, he brings together several companies: DOM Security (locks and access control), MAC (building closures), Neu-JKF (air treatment in industrial buildings), MMD/Barriquand (heat exchangers for building and industry). SFPI generates consolidated sales of 550 million euros and employs 3,858 people.
In addition to his industrial activities, Henri Morel was vice-president treasurer of FIM from 2018 to 2019 and president of UNIQ, Union nationale de l'Industrie de la Quincaillerie from 2014 to the present. From 2002 to 2005, he was also President of ARGE (European Federation of Associations of Lock and Builders Hardware Manufacturers), which groups 12 national federations.
Convinced that the mechanical engineering industries have a major role to play in the transformation of all industry, and therefore of the country's economy, Henri Morel intends to dedicate his term of office to excellence. "To meet the major challenges of the 21st century, the mechanical engineering industries must benefit from a favorable economic, fiscal and legal framework. To achieve this, they need a federation capable of collaborating with its entire ecosystem to represent them, support their development and promote them at the highest level".he adds.
