Changes will take place at the head of the Endress+Hauser Group at the beginning of 2024. As previously announced, Dr. Klaus Endress will step down as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He will be replaced by current CEO Matthias Altendorf. The new Group CEO will be Dr Peter Selders, currently Managing Director of the Competence Center for Level and Pressure Measurement. Steven Endress, currently Managing Director of Endress+Hauser UK, will become the second member of the family to sit on the Supervisory Board.
Klaus Endress (b. 1948) has shaped the development of Endress+Hauser for almost 45 years. He joined the company founded by his father in 1979. He then took over the management of the Group in 1995. In 2014, he handed over the day-to-day running of the company to Matthias Altendorf and became Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He has largely shaped the company's current structure. In recent years, he has also worked to ensure a smooth generational change within the shareholder family.
A new direction for the group
Matthias Altendorf is due to take over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board on January 1, 2024. He will be proposed for election at the Annual General Meeting on April 3, 2023. According to Klaus Endress, shareholders feel that he is the right person for the job: " He has known our company for 35 years, and has led the Group prudently and successfully for almost a decade. Mr Altendorf also embodies the Endress+Hauser culture in an exemplary way, and upholds the values that distinguish our company. "
Dr. Peter Selders will take over the reins of the Group as CEO from 2024... The 53-year-old executive, who holds a doctorate in physics, joined Endress+Hauser in 2004 and has headed the competence center for level and pressure measurement based in Maulburg, Germany, since 2019. " As head of Endress+Hauser Level+Pressure, he has demonstrated that he can lead and inspire people, that he lives and breathes our culture, and that he is capable of successfully growing a large organization. "says Klaus Endress.
The family remains closely linked to the company
These decisions were taken after careful consideration and lengthy discussions between the shareholders, the family and the Supervisory Board. " It goes without saying that the family will remain closely linked to the company.says Klaus Endress. As before, it will be represented on the Supervisory Board by two members. In addition to Sandra Genge, Steven Endress will join the Board on January 1, 2024. The 44-year-old grandson of the company's founder has worked for Endress+Hauser since 2012 and has held the position of Managing Director in the UK since 2016.
Although Klaus Endress will no longer have an active role at Endress+Hauser, he will remain Chairman of the Family Council, which decides on all important matters concerning the relationship between the family and the company. For many years, a family charter has governed the interaction of shareholders and their relationship with the company. Established institutions and regular meetings reinforce solidarity within the family and offer members of the younger generation the chance to get involved in the company.
Other succession arrangements are in place
Dr Dirk Môrmann, 49, currently Director of Technology and member of the Management Board, will succeed Peter Selders as head of the competence center for level and pressure measurement. The fortunes of Endress+Hauser UK will be in the hands of Lain Cropper (51) from May 1, 2023. As a member of the Management Board, he is currently Associate Director, Operations Sales Process.
