The American company Measurement Specialties has just inaugurated a new sensor factory in France (in Saint-Martin-du Touch, near Toulouse). This 6,000 m2 area employs 230 people. The industrial establishment of Measurement Specialties in France dates back to 2004 with the takeover of the company Humirel, created by two former engineers from the Motorola Toulouse components factory. At the time, this company specializing in humidity sensors had 50 people. Measurement Specialties has made it its center of excellence for humidity sensors and its European headquarters for all of its activities. With the construction of the new plant, Measurement Specialties' anchoring in France is therefore strengthened. In addition to humidity sensors, the American company manufactures sensors and systems that measure pressure, force, position, vibration, temperature, torque and properties of fluids. It is mainly aimed at equipment manufacturers. According to our colleague La Dépêche, “80% of the Toulouse site's activity is carried out in cars and trucks and 20% in household appliances. 92% of production is exported ”.
