PTC and Rockwell Automation have announced the launch of Factory Insights as a Service, a solution cloud a turnkey solution that facilitates manufacturers' digital transformation initiatives and delivers rapid, tangible results. This new offering, unveiled at PTC's Global Partner Summit as part of LiveWorx 2020, a major event dedicated to digital transformation, marks a significant step forward in the collaboration between Rockwell Automation, Microsoft and PTC.
Factory Insights as a Service, powered by PTC, Rockwell Automation and Microsoft technology, is a ready-to-use solution available in the cloud. It addresses the most common, high value-added use cases for manufacturers undergoing digital transformation:
- Real-time production performance monitoring
- Asset tracking and utilization
- Connected workstations
- Digital work instructions in augmented reality
Factory Insights as a Service integrates many key products from PTC's offering and Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk InnovationSuite. PTC's flagship embedded products include ThingWorx, Kepware and Vuforia, optimized to process IoT data from Rockwell Automation's automation and information solutions.
The Factory Insights as a Service solution is based on Microsoft cloud technologies, industrial IoT and Edge computing services, including Azure IoT Hub and Azure IoT Edge, enabling manufacturers to quickly connect a factory and then deploy projects across all their sites. It facilitates the deployment of IIoT projects as part of a digital transformation process, and helps reduce costs. Factory Insights as a Service provides invaluable visibility and information for manufacturers wishing to improve their operational efficiency and the performance of their operators, and optimize the use of their assets.
