The Scientific Week organized by Cofrend (the French Confederation for Non-Destructive Testing) aims to enable everyone to discover advances in research & development and technological innovations in NDT (non-destructive testing) and SHM (Structure Health Monitoring).
The science week will run from May 16 to 18, 2022, with three mornings, distance learningCofrend, offering conference sessions dedicated to the themes addressed by Cofrend's working groups.
The following topics will be covered:
- Monday May 16: artificial intelligence, digital radiography and tomography,
- Tuesday May 17: NDT & civil engineering break, nonlinear acoustic methods & NDT, additive manufacturing,
- Wednesday May 18: Terahertz pause, organizational & human factors, television control.
Then, a face-to-face meeting at Arts et Métiers - Campus de Paris - Ensam (Paris 13) :
- May 19 with the 5e edition of Doctoriales de la CofrendThe event is held every 18 months. Some 11 young researchers will present the results of their research and their thesis work in progress or defended in 2021. At the same time, the day will be organized around poster sessions, prepared by industrialists on the challenges of NDT and their needs, during breaks and lunch. The day will close with speed dating, followed by a "social event" to encourage dialogue between industrialists and doctoral students.

It will open with a talk by Holger Speckmann, Managing Director of Testia GmbH, who will present SHM advances at Testia, a subsidiary of the Airbus group. The day will then be organized around technical and scientific conferences and an exhibition, during breaks and lunch.
This Cofrend science week will offer a foretaste of the scientific and technical program of the Cofrend 2023 days from June 6 to 8 in Marseille.
