The SGS France laboratory in Oignies (62) has just opened a brand-new area for the analysis and testing of electrical and electronic products: lighting, household appliances, hand-held electric tools, etc. Located 15 minutes from the Greater Lille area, it offers the region's retail and industrial customers proximity, responsiveness and flexibility.
The aim is to guarantee product safety for consumers, prevent or report any construction defects, and ensure positive, qualitative customer feedback for retailers and e-commerce operators.
" We chose to open this new laboratory to be as close as possible to our customers. This proximity enables us to take samples directly on site, saving precious time.explains Jean-Pierre Rosserot, Electrical & Electronics Technical Manager, SGS France.
Construction defects, product misuse, problems with the legibility of instructions for use... everything is scrutinized by SGS France experts to improve the customer experience and the perceived quality of the consumer.
" We also help retailers to better qualify the reviews left online by consumers. Depending on their requirements in terms of product rating (3* and 4*), we carry out analyses to check the relevance of the rating and qualify any dissatisfaction... And provide areas for improvement, such as reviewing the type of components used or the assembly carried out. Our approach is fully in line with the European bill on the transparency and classification of online reviews, which was relaunched in January. "continues Jean-Pierre Rosserot.
The Oignies team can also call on the expertise of the testing laboratory historically based in Aix-en-Provence for any additional analysis: performance tests, chemical tests, etc.
" In view of the success of our incoming applications, we are already planning to expand the laboratory and strengthen our team in 2020. "concludes Jean-Pierre Rosserot.
