Maintaining and extending the life of structures, detecting and predicting their failures using integrated sensors, are the challenges of SHM ( Structural Health Monitoring ) or structural health monitoring.
The SHM aims at a scientific and technological panel very complementary to “traditional” NDTs. More and more deployments in different industrial sectors (aeronautics, civil engineering, oil & gas, etc.) demonstrate the profound changes at work in the management of structures at stake (conditional and predictive maintenance for example) while improving their safety. Recent dramatic events (bridge collapses, etc.) illustrate the issues for which the SHM can provide solutions.
The branch of SHM @ COFREND activity, is organizing its 3rd annual day, which in the current health context, be held in virtual, December 10, 2020 from 9:00 to 16:00.
A review of the results of Cofrend's SHM working groups will be presented in the first part, in order to take stock of developments in the various industrial sectors (aeronautics, civil engineering, energy and pressure equipment). The program will then continue around conferences on the latest academic and industrial advances, and will end with exchanges and discussions to prepare the next stage in the structuring of the SHM in France.
Note the intervention of three plenary speakers who will testify on the challenges and application advances of SHM in their respective fields: the Ministry of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, the APRR and Airbus Group.
