Maintaining and extending the lifespan of structures, and detecting and predicting their failures using integrated sensors, are the challenges facing SHM (Structural Health Monitoring) or structural health checks.
SHM targets a scientific and technological panel that is highly complementary to "traditional" NDT. An increasing number of deployments in different industrial sectors (aeronautics, civil engineering, oil & gas, etc.) demonstrate the profound changes at work in the management of high-stakes structures (condition-based and predictive maintenance, for example), while at the same time improving their safety. Recent dramatic events (bridge collapses, etc.) illustrate the challenges for which SHM can provide solutions.
The SHM@Cofrend business line is holding its 3rde annual day, which in the current health context will be held virtually on December 10, 2020 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
A review of the results of Cofrend's SHM working groups will be presented in the first part of the program, to take stock of developments in the various industrial sectors (aeronautics, civil engineering, energy and pressure equipment). The program will then continue with lectures on the latest academic and industrial advances, and will conclude with exchanges and discussions to prepare the next stage in the structuring of SHM in France.
Three plenary speakers will be presenting the challenges and advances in SHM applications in their respective fields: the French Ministry of the Ecological Transition, APRR and Airbus Group.
