Detection Technology, a global leader in X-ray detectors, has unveiled the first out-of-the-box detection subsystem for safety computed tomography (CT) applications. This plug-and-play subsystem, called Aurora CT, includes ready-to-use multi-cut detection boards and a data acquisition system (DAS).

According to the manufacturer, the Aurora CT accelerates time to market and reduces the total cost of X-ray imaging systems that meet the most stringent standards for aviation safety equipment, such as ECAC EDSCB C3 standard, ECAC EDS 3.1 standard and TSA AT-2 TIER II standard.

“(…) We have identified a growing demand for out-of-the-box CT detection solutions, which enable rapid and cost-effective system development, while meeting the latest regulations and standards in great detail, says Tomi Fält, Director product management for the Safety and Industry division. Safety TC systems offer many features to improve aviation safety and the passenger experience. Our Aurora branded multitranch X-ray detectors and control unit provide accurate data for 3D CT imaging systems that detect the contents of bags without the need to remove electronics or liquids. In designing the Aurora CT, we have also paid attention to the expected next generation standards, and have ensured that the design stands the test of time. "
