Ifm electronic has designed a new VV vibration sensor. This sensor easily connects in IO-Link (or TOR) on a plc and / or supervision. Additional networks, gateways, and expensive IT support are not required.
Towards Industry 4.0
The VV vibration sensor constantly monitors and diagnoses, by simple indicators, the common defects of fans, motors, centrifugal pumps, etc. (such as unbalanced, defective bearings, shocks).
Io-Link masters transmit process values and alarms to the control system as well as to the higher system. Even raw vibration signal data can be transmitted to superior systems for advanced analysis.
This improves maintenance because, unlike periodic monitoring systems, equipment is continuously monitored and production outages, following major breakdowns or even failures, are avoided.
Finally, thanks to IO-Link, the electrical cabinet and complex wiring are no longer necessary.
