In 2022, Cetiat (Centre Technique des Industries Aérauliques et Thermiques) is strengthening its combustion activities by acquiring the domestic heating business of Ctif (Centre Technique des Industries de la Fonderie). This investment will enable Cetiat to strengthen its position in the energy transition market and Ctif to refocus on its core business of metallurgy. The transfer, scheduled for the second half of 2022, will be carried out with the aim of guaranteeing the best possible continuity of service for Cetiat's customers.
An opportunity for both technical centers
As Cetim's associate center since autumn 2021, Ctif is refocusing its activities on its "core business", foundry, forge and metallurgy. In this context, lhe Ctif has decided to transfer its historic domestic heating systems business to Cetiat, in its capacity as an independent technical center with expertise in heating systems, and recognized by numerous international certifiers (NF mark, CE marking, etc.).
Home heating covers 3 types of applications:
○ Stove and insert testing wood-fired ;
○ Testing domestic equipment (ovens, hobs, planchas and gas barbecues), in addition to the tests on professional cooking equipment already carried out by Cetiat;
○ Barbecue testing a novelty for Cetiat.
As of January 2023, Cetiat will be fully operational to carry out all these product conformity tests and analyses, and will thus be the only independent French laboratory for approval tests on individual wood-burning and gas-fired domestic cooking appliances.
This transfer of activity is a development opportunity for Cetiat, which is fully in line with its mission to validate the performance of equipment to French, European and international standards. In this way, Cetiat is putting its expertise at the service of the sector's industrialists to meet their needs, in fineOur products meet the expectations of consumers who want to be reassured about product quality and safety.
This transfer will be accompanied by a strengthening of human and technical resourcess of the center, with the eventual recruitment of 2 test technicians. As a result, Cetiat will have additional capacity to respond to the ever-increasing number of combustion-related issues for private and public sector clients.
" I'm delighted with this partnership between our two technical centers, which ensures continuity of service for customers and partners, and gives us an opportunity to consolidate our expertise. In the long term, we are aiming for growth of 15 to 20 % in our certification testing business. ", says Pierre Claudel, Managing Director of Cetiat.
" We are delighted to be able to transfer this long-standing Ctif activity to a French center with recognized expertise, thus ensuring continuity of service for our customers. Our teams are doing their utmost to ensure that this transfer is carried out in collaboration with our customers, for whom maintaining national expertise in this field is an important issue. " adds Clotilde Macke-Bart, Managing Director of Ctif.
