Flir Systems has unveiled the Flir VP42, a non-contact voltage detector with integrated flashlight, designed for troubleshooting and monitoring electrical installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. The VP42 can be used to quickly check neutral and phase wires, for greater safety when working on site.
With its built-in flashlight and CAT IV safety voltage rating, the Flir VP42 is indispensable for preliminary on-site checks, identifying phase wires. The rugged, pen-sized tester quickly identifies the presence of AC voltage without touching the wires, even in the latest safety plug models. The VP42 simplifies wire identification by sorting and tracing neutral and phase wires in outlets and junction boxes.
Inspired by today's smartphones, the VP42 alerts electricians to the presence of voltage not only by means of a multicolored LED indicator, but also by vibrating, so they don't miss a single alert even in noisy or dark environments. Built to last, this durable tester features an anti-roll casing and a rugged design capable of withstanding drops from up to 3 meters onto a concrete floor. Each VP42 unit is also protected by a three-year warranty.
