The French Navy chooses HTDS and DSPEC-50 digital signal processing electronics.
HtDS' "nuclear & radiation protection" department announces that it has been selected by the French Navy to equip its analysis, surveillance and expertise laboratory (Lasem) in Brest. HTDS will ensure the supply and installation of digital signal processing electronics that will be dedicated to Lasem's environmental protection missions.
Equipped with a wide range of high-tech analysis tools, this laboratory is in charge of the safety of sailors. He had recently been looking for reliable and efficient equipment to optimize his various works and expand his operational field of action in gamma spectrometry.
Beyond its great expertise in nuclear physics research, HTDS was selected thanks to a technical offer considered the most interesting with the supply, installation and maintenance of several DSPEC-50 signal processing electronics from the manufacturer Ametek – Ortec.
Coupled with the emulation, acquisition, analysis and management software of gamma spectrometry LVIS (deconvolution software), this new signal processing solution type DSPEC (Digital Signal Processing Gamma Spectrometer)recommended by HTDS will allow the Lasem teams to optimize their gamma spectrometry measurements thanks to a robust and durable solution. Successfully installed by HTDS, it will also allow Navy scientists to work on a wider range of applications within the laboratory.
With this new facility and the confidence of the French Navy, HTDS is strengthening its position as a key player in signal processing for research in radiation protection and nuclear physics.
DSPEC-50 and DSPEC-502A, new signal processing system for optimal performance
Already praised for its performance and high digital signal stability, the DSPEC-50/502A signal processing electronics developed by OrteC offers the advantage of being an innovative and high-quality nuclear instrumentation allowing scientists to expand their field of investigation.
From a technical point of view, the DSPEC-50 instrument is available in Standard and Advanced versions that offer the same digital signal processing and stability for optimal spectroscopic performance. The Advanced model also includes additional features to optimize signal synchronization applications, such as "counting" suppression and anti-coincidence measures.
In addition to better resolution, high stability, dual MCA voice and positive or negative polarization, the DSPEC-502A provides other benefits for users:
> Increase in Pic-to-Compton
> Anti-coincidence background noise reduction
> Installation and programming in less than an hour
> Signal stability
"This equipment will therefore prove to be an ideal tool, particularly for laboratory measurements, ultra-low background noise measurements, 'environment' laboratories, as well as for industry requirements," says HTDS.
