The LNE Group is expanding its certification business in Great Britain by creating a new subsidiary in the United Kingdom.
Following Brexit, products subject to CE marking in the Community market must now comply with British regulations to be marketed in Great Britain. This regulation provides for the affixing of a UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking attesting to the conformity of the products. When the conformity assessment of a product is carried out by a certification body, the latter must be recognised by the local authorities, in order to benefit from the status of "UK Approved Body" (UKAB). This status can only be granted to organisms located on British soil.
To support manufacturers, of which Great Britain represents a significant market, the LNE, through its subsidiary GMED (specialized in the certification of medical devices), is mobilizing to obtain the status of "UK Approved Body", through an entity called LNE-GMED UK, located near London. This new subsidiary within the LNE Group will rely on the GMED and LNE teams and will also significantly develop its own local production forces.
The creation of LNE-GMED UK strengthens the positioning of LNE and GMED as an international certification body. This future certification body for medical devices, construction products, measuring instruments and products emitting noise emissions outside buildings aims to ensure the long-term access to the UK market for LNE and GMED customers while accelerating the development of the LNE group.
David Francis takes over the management of this subsidiary in the United Kingdom as General Manager. Engineer by training with more than 20 years of experience in the field of medical devices, electromechanical engineering, aerospace, avionics and defense, acquired in management positions in the industry, within notified bodies and consulting companies. He will put his expertise at the service of the deployment of this new subsidiary for the benefit of manufacturers wishing to put their products on the British market.
