Detection of gas leaks and partial discharges by acoustic camera

The Air Leaks leak detection camera is a tool that is intended to help detect air leaks in the purge system. It is able to locate ultrasonic sources that are the signature of the air leak. The tool makes it possible to perform a quantitative test, which is more specific than the current procedures of qualitative bubble verification test, aluminum foil test or temperature models. It makes it possible to detect leaks and measure the air flow of these leaks.

This camera, depending on the selected configuration, can also accurately detect and locate the electrical phenomena of partial discharges.

Indeed the particular acoustics of these events make detection fast, reliable, and simple; with a real-time display directly on the camera screen.

It uses 124 microphones to form a highly accurate acoustic image in the desired direction. This acoustic image is transposed in real time into an image on the digital camera, allowing the user to see in which directions the sound reaches the camera.

The NL camera is much more sensitive and accurate than the human ear, which means it can locate inaudible sound sources, as well as sound sources that cannot be reliably located.

The tool has a frequency range up to ultrasonics, which represents, according to the company, a huge advantage for locating phenomena accurately thanks to ultrasound.
