The Austrian company Anton Paar has just bought the German company Petrotest, which allows it to now have an offer of measuring instruments for the laboratories of the oil industries. Anton Paar specializes in devices for measuring density and concentration, rheological and surface analysis, and finally the measurement of dissolved carbon dioxide (in food drinks in particular). The amount of the petrotest buyout has not been revealed but it is the largest acquisition in the history of Anton Paar, who had successively bought Physica Messtechnik (1996), MSB Morocutti (2006) and Dr Wolfgang Kernchen (2007), all German. Petrotest has been developing and producing test equipment for petroleum products since 1873, including viscosimeters, densimeters, colour meters, flashpoint measurement, basic sulphur and nitrogen analyzers, and specific analyzers for crude oil, fuels, fats and lubricants.
