General Manager of the Centre technique industriel de la construction métallique (CTICM), Christophe Mathieu has just been elected Chairman of the Industrial Technical Centers (CTI). Industrial Technical Centers (CTI) are technological research structures that support an industrial sector, generally characterized by a high proportion of small and medium-sized enterprises. They carry out a mission of general interest in the fields of technology watch, research, development and standardization. They also develop private and commercial activities in technical assistance, technology transfer, training and, more recently, sustainable development. The CTI are generally heavily involved in instrumentation, and are often called upon to develop new measurement and control techniques. There are some twenty CTI in France, including the Cetimthe Cetiatthe Cerib, l'Welding Institute or the LRCCPA graduate of the École polytechnique and ENSAé, Christophe Mathieu began his career with the French Ministry of Defense, where he held various engineering and business management positions. He then joined the Thales as Technical and Scientific Director of the subsidiary TDA Armements before being appointed Director of Aeronautical Development at the Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA) in 2006, then General Manager of the Centre technique industriel de la construction métallique (CTICM) in May 2009. Christophe Mathieu succeeds Jacques Sturm, who after four years as Chairman, has decided to step down.
