With Tecnicontrol, Bureau Veritas completes its first acquisition in Colombia and strengthens in the oil and gas sector in Latin America. The company provides its industrial customers (oil and gas, process industries and mining) with inspection, quality assurance, non-destructive control, asset integrity management and pre-commissioned technical audits. Founded in 1973 and based in Bogota, Tecnicontrol is a major player in the Colombian market, employing more than 1,300 highly qualified engineers and technicians. In 2011, Tecnicontrol generated sales of around 60 million euros (141.9 billion Colombian pesos). The acquisition also includes Tecnicontrol's operations in Peru and Mexico.This first acquisition in Colombia allows Bureau Veritas to expand its presence in northern Latin America and consolidate its leadership in the region's fast-growing industrial markets.
