The story begins in 1948, when Mr. John FLUKE founded the company in Springdale, Connecticut, USA. The small company began by selling EnergiMeters, then other test and measurement equipment. The business grew over the years, thanks in part to John Fluke's policy of promoting innovation.
That's how Fluke developed its digital multimeter, an instrument that quickly became an indispensable part of every technician's daily routine. In 1991, in collaboration with Philips, Fluke developed the ScopeMeter: the first battery-powered, portable oscilloscope complete with digital multimeter.
Building on its growth and technological advantage, the company took over the Test & Measurement activities of Philips Electronics in the Netherlands in 1993.
Today, Fluke's innovations continue to extend the capabilities of essential tools. For example, in 2009, the Fluke 233 was the very first digital multimeter to feature a removable display for safer, remote measurements. In 2012, Fluke introduced the CNX 3000 Series wireless system, which enables simultaneous remote reading of 10 modules at a time.
Over the past 65 years, Fluke has continued to build on its position as world leader in portable electronic test and measurement technologies, and to maintain a policy of continuous innovation.
Today, Fluke Corporation is headquartered in Everett, Washington, USA. The company employs over 2,500 people worldwide and distributes its products in over 100 countries. In Europe, Fluke operates in 13 countries and has a manufacturing plant in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. The company's European revenues contribute approximately 40% of worldwide sales.
To mark its 65th anniversary, Fluke is launching a rich program of promotions throughout the anniversary year. Every month, new promotions offer Fluke customers exceptional gifts and offers.
