Since 2014, Emitech has been developing a new offering for measuring the transfer impedance and shielding efficiency of cables and connectors. It comes in response to growing demand from manufacturers, particularly in the aeronautics and automotive industries, but also in the military and space fields. These measurements are essential where electronics are ubiquitous, since the immunity of signals transmitted by cable is critical, both in terms of equipment operating safety and confidentiality.
Measurements of transfer impedance and shielding efficiency are complex and specific to carry out, as they are not covered by any generic standard, but only by test methods that require the measurement to be adapted to each product. They are required in addition to standard qualifications, and enable manufacturers to ensure the quality of components used to meet safety requirements. Emitech aims to develop and master the widest possible range of methods for measuring transfer impedance and shielding efficiency, in order to meet the most specific cable and connector requirements. In addition, these test campaigns complement the global range of qualifications already developed by the group for the aeronautics, automotive, military and space industries.
