The publication of INSEE's investment indicators dated 9 February provides an optimistic outlook for the coming year. Indeed, for 2016 and by sector, industrialists expect their capital expenditure to increase by up to 9% compared to the previous year; higher than usual at this time of year (3% between 2004 and 2015). An indicator that confirms, moreover, the full power of the over-amortization device.
"Proof, if any, of the success of the over-amortization scheme to encourage the investment of French industrialists in the modernization of their productive apparatus. This is a first assessment of this measure, which is widely acclaimed by SMEs but which must be long-term in order to make these forecasts a reality," explains Jean Tournoux, Symop's general delegate, adding, "Undoubtedly, the abandonment of over-amortization in April would put a brake on an anticipated dynamic in 2016 by INSEE."
