Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence introduces the new Optiv Performance 322, a multi-sensor coordinate measuring machine (CMM) featuring a small footprint and a scalable design to suit a multitude of applications.
Weighing 180 kg, the machine with fixed bridge and movable table is light enough to be placed on an existing work surface and repositioned elsewhere without recalibration by a Hexagon technician. The machine offers greater precision and repeatability at high speeds (300 mm/s), as well as high acceleration, thanks to the rigidity of its granite construction. This makes it ideal for inspecting sheet metal dies and injection-molded plastic parts, as well as for scanning profiles and many other tasks. What's more, it takes up no floor space.
Equipped with PC-DMIS software, the Optiv Performance 322 is highly flexible and can quickly measure a wide range of parts. The CMM is available in an entry-level configuration incorporating a vision sensor. Its specified 3D accuracy and pre-wiring make it easy to transform into a complete multi-sensor solution compatible with a variety of tactile and non-tactile sensors, avoiding the use of numerous products in the inspection field. The system's modular design means that sensors, controller, PC and metrology software can be easily customized to meet changing requirements.
The CMM incorporates advanced temperature compensation technology that calculates a correction value for measurement deviations to provide consistent, repeatable results.
" Manufacturers sometimes had difficulty finding a solution that was both compact and capable of meeting variable inspection requirements.explains Marc Stalker, CMM Strategic Product Manager at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. Lhe Optiv Performance 322 worktop version not only meets these requirements. It also optimizes output by combining high flexibility of use with ISO 10360-compliant precision at high acceleration. "
