Techinnov, the leading business convention dedicated to innovation for industry, has announced the appointment of Laurent Legendre as event chairman.
Laurent Legendre, who holds a doctorate in engineering, has worked for Airbus since 1990, and is currently Regional Director for the Île-de-France region at Airbus Group Développement, a subsidiary of Airbus SAS which supports the economic development of SMEs in areas where Airbus has manufacturing facilities.
In 22 years, Airbus Développement has signed more than 1,400 development agreements with SMEs, helping to create nearly 19,000 jobs in these companies, thanks to the financial support provided by equity loans (or subsidies) and support measures tailored to the company's activity. As part of its open innovation strategy, Airbus is open to integrating technologies developed by SMEs supported by Airbus Développement.
"We are delighted to welcome Laurent Legendre as President of Techinnov. His experience at Airbus, and in particular at Airbus Développement, gives him a real vision of the importance of having a place for cross-fertilization of innovations and projects, and of building bridges between start-ups, SMEs and major groups to create the industry of tomorrow", said Bruno Malecamp, Techinnov's General Commissioner.
"I am honored to have been appointed President of Techinnov. In 14 years, Techinnov has established itself as the leading national event bringing together the entire innovation ecosystem. At a time when subjects such as Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Tech and HealthTech are major economic challenges, it is absolutely essential to create a space that encourages meetings between all the players in the ecosystem", said Laurent Legendre.
The Techinnov business convention, an event organized by the Essonne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Essonne), which is responsible for the legal and financial aspects on behalf of the Paris Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Paris Île-de-France), brought together 288 SME contractors, 187 key accounts and principals, 215 start-ups, 42 public and private research organizations, 96 investors and 75 partner organizations in 2019.
