The trade fair for production resources for bar turning and precision mechanical manufacturing closed its doors with a positive result. The 309 exhibitors present were visited by a total of 17 209 people over 4 days. Down 9 % from 2018, this lower attendance is primarily due to the health environment.
The strategy put in place for more than a year to organize Simodec 2022 has proven its relevance, both for exhibitors and for attracting visitors. A completely renovated hall, a reorganized booth layout, events that focus on the future of the industry, innovations that are highlighted in an original way, and involved professional partners are all elements that have helped to convince the world's leading suppliers of machines, tools and production equipment dedicated to bar turning and precision mechanical manufacturing of the need to participate in Simodec 2022.
Having not been held for four years, such a technological gathering at the show was bound to attract investors in the bar turning and precision mechanical manufacturing industries. Constraints due to geopolitical events and the health situation combined to slow down international attendance. However, many visitors came from afar to discover the latest innovations and prepare their investments in machine tools, robotics, peripheral equipment, tools and tooling, software and 4.0 solutions. A trade show on a human scale, Simodec 2022 allowed for numerous contacts and exchanges between suppliers and investors. The question of delivery times was at the heart of discussions for the most important investments, as well as for the most trivial ones. All participants, exhibitors and visitors, were unanimous in recognizing that Simodec 2022 was an exceptional edition in more ways than one. In any case, this edition demonstrates the resilience of the precision mechanics industry. Rochexpo is now preparing for the 2024 edition, which will celebrate the show's 70th anniversary, still in March.
