Laser Components' COUNT counting modules achieve unmatched quantum efficiency of over 70% in the red region! Another advantage of this photon counter over other existing modules on the market is its significantly higher quantum efficiency in the blue region of the spectrum.
The COUNT module series is designed based on an avalanche photodiode used in Geiger mode, which was specially developed by sister company Laser Components Detector Group, Inc. specifically for this series. It is one of the lowest noise APDs on the market. Combined with its electronics optimized in the smallest details, this APD represents the heart of the COUNT module. From 1 October 2010, the standard modules are available with counting rates of 20 to 250 strokes. Modules with strokes < 10 c/s (coups par seconde) sont également disponibles sur demande.
These modules are supplied either with an easy-to-use FC fiber optic connector, with a fiber core with a diameter of up to 105 µm, or even in free optics. Thanks to its compact housing and its "plug & play" compatibility with other photon counters previously available on the market, replacing an existing photon counter with the COUNT is child's play.
