Cetim invests €11m in materials characterization tests

The Cetim prévoit d’investir 11 millions d’euros cette année dans de nouveaux équipements liés au marché des moyens d’essais de caractérisation des matériaux. Cet investissement va dans le prolongement de ses actions en caractérisation des matériaux, dont l’activité « testing » a augmenté de 25 % en quatre ans pour atteindre un chiffre d’affaires de quelques 8 millions d’euros.
En pointe dans l’utilisation de ces nouveaux matériaux, le secteur aéronautique est en quelques années devenu le premier secteur client des activités de caractérisation du Cetim. Les nouveaux programmes de moteurs et l’accroissement de la production d’aéronefs ont, de fait, suscité un véritable boom de la demande. Résultat : le Centre est aujourd’hui fournisseur de rang 1 pour Safran and Airbus en matière d’essai sur les matériaux métalliques et composites.
" La demande dans ce secteur est en passe de doubler à l’horizon 2017. Les exigences requièrent des certifications, des moyens d’essai, des compétences pointues multi-matériaux et des garanties de confidentialité, déclare Daniel Richet, directeur du développement régional et international. Le Cetim se doit de suivre cette forte croissance et d’apporter des solutions aux grands donneurs d’ordres. "
