The Cetim plans to invest 11 million euros this year in new equipment for the materials characterization testing market. This investment is an extension of the company's activities in materials characterization, whose testing business has grown by 25 % in four years to reach sales of some 8 million euros.
At the forefront in the use of these new materials, the aeronautics sector has in just a few years become the leading customer for the characterization activities of the Cetim. New engine programs and increased aircraft production have led to a boom in demand. As a result, the Centre is now a Tier 1 supplier for Safran and Airbus in testing metallic and composite materials.
