A duo of shock within the first industrial region of France

"After a 1st edition in autonomy in Bordeaux in 1983, it is clear that the Cim saw the country before stabilizing in Lyon. The metrologist is used to working alone but must be constantly informed of technical standards, regulations and technological developments. It is from this need that the International Congress of Metrology was born. This biennial event, which is evolving with its time and constraints, has nevertheless managed to preserve its genesis. The only major notable difference is the end of the "Ladies' Program" held in parallel with the Congress for the wives of metrologists. Times have changed and our profession has evolved, becoming more inclusive for women. This edition pushes in this direction by organizing a quasi-parity of the sexes for the presidents of sessions. In addition, International Women's Day will be celebrated at the same time as the conference. Welcome to the new era of Cim ! Pierre Barbier – Metrology expert and creator of Cim
