Flir Systems is launching two new ranges of thermal cameras on the market, similar in their presentation and image resolution, but targeted on different markets: the E Series is intended for maintenance applications (location of hot spots on electrical installations and mechanical) while the Ebx Series targets building inspection applications (location of thermal leaks, heating pipes, etc.). With the E-Series it is possible to measure temperatures up to 650 ° C and achieve a resolution of 0.05 ° C. For the Ebx Series, the corresponding figures are 0.045 ° C and 120 ° C.
Both ranges are available in image resolutions of 160 × 120 pixels, 240 × 180 pixels, or 320 × 240 pixels.
All these entry-level models stand out for their performance / price ratio.
In addition to a thermal sensor, these cameras are equipped with an image sensor (3 Mpixels) in the visible allowing the thermal image to be superimposed on the visible image. Other features include the ability to add voice and text annotations, create reports in .pdf format directly on the camera, receive (wireless) data from an ammeter (for Series cameras E) or a hygrometer (for the Ebx Series) and finally the possibility of wireless transmission (via a WiFi connection) of the recorded information to a computer.
