Mitutoyo has developed the world's first solar comparator. There is no equivalent product in the world today.
There have been a few battery-free instrumentation products such as the Mitutoyo caliper, but Mitutoyo has now developed the world's first solar-powered dial indicator. This is the world's first solar-powered (battery-free) dial indicator.
Mitutoyo's solar-powered ID-S comparator requires only 40 lux of illumination to operate.
It can be used in very dimly lit environments, even if the comparator has been switched off beforehand. In fact, if the illumination intensity is below the 40 lux limit, the ID-S comparator has a built-in capacitor - for up to 160 minutes, provided the capacitor has previously been allowed to fully charge at an illumination intensity exceeding 40 lux.
The ID-S Solaire comparator requires only an ordinary working environment to be fully functional. In fact, according to workplace guidelines, an illumination intensity of 300 lux is recommended when working on machine tools. Much more than necessary for the ID-S to be operational.
The ID-S dial indicator also incorporates the Absolute technology developed by Mitutoyo. It boasts state-of-the-art technical features:
- Precision of 0.003 µm
- 12.7 mm capacity
- Measuring force? 1,5N
- 6-digit LCD display
- Carbide ball probe, thread M 2.5 x 0.45 mm
