Flir Systems announces the launch of Flir KF6, the industry's first thermal imaging camera (TIC) designed for aerial fire ladders. The new reference provides firefighters with aerial thermal vision, enabling them to better observe the situation and safely plan the fight against a fire in a large building, warehouse or structure.
The Flir KF6 is a fixed, air-mounted thermal imaging camera that enables the operator to locate hot spots in the smokiest conditions, during large-scale operations. With a high-resolution thermal image (640 x 480) and a wide field of view (69 degrees), the thermal camera enables the operator to see through the smoke to identify the source of the fire and accurately target water ingress. This thermal camera features the manufacturer's exclusive patented FSX (Flexible Scene Enhancement) technology, which provides a high level of sharpness and detail, even in extreme temperatures.
" With the new FLIR KF6 thermal imaging camera, firefighters can better assess the effectiveness of their angle of attack and extinguishing strategy.explains Rickard Lindvall, General Manager of Flir's instrument segment. The launch of the Flir KF6 demonstrates our commitment to providing firefighters with a range of top-quality thermal imaging equipment, from ground to altitude, at prices to suit the needs and budgets of all departments. "
The KF6 meets MIL-STD-810G specifications and is unaffected by smoke or water. This reference is easy to install on any scale. It provides a composite video signal for use on aerial platform and vehicle displays.
