Optris GmbH's portable and fixed infrared thermometers were designed for the metal processing industry. Portable devices are intended for occasional measurements while fixed devices find their use in continuous quality management and process control.
The supply of Optris in short wavelength IR thermometers for accurate metal surface measurement is identified by 1M, 2M and 3M. The innovation allows the fixed thermometer 3M to start measurements as early as 50oC, the control of metals and composites can now be done at a temperature close to the atmosphere. The 1M is calibrated up to 1800 degrees Celsius for applications such as welding or hardening.
Portable devices can be used, for example, in hardening workshops where temperature measurements are occasional but demanding, and wherever the speed of implementation of the measurement is important. If a large number of measurement points are required (use in OEM), small and very affordable thermometers of the compact series are available. Thanks to the precision of their optics, the high-performance series sensors are able to measure points of a size of 0.5 mm that are exactly targeted using the innovative dual laser target.
A strong point of some fixed devices is their deported electronics. Thus these devices are installable on induction processes without fear of interference from electromagnetic fields. The variety of input-exit options and interfaces (analog and digital), the ease of use of the display/keys, make the deported electronic case easily integrated into both project and existing systems.
The optris CTratio 1M bichromatic pyrometer consists of a measuring head connected to a separate fiber optic electronic case. The measuring head and fiber optic cable can be used in an environment of up to 250 degrees Celsius without additional cooling.
