Today's consumer demands for the fastest possible delivery mean that logistics providers have to be ever more responsive and efficient, especially during major commercial rushes such as sales, Black Friday and Christmas, while at the same time remaining profitable.
This raises the question of goods or parcel management. When products arrive in the warehouse, they need to be quickly recorded in the stock, then stored, followed by order preparation and finally tracking for dispatch.
Everything has to move fast, and the risk of error can be critical. That's why a semi-automated solution for traceability data entry may be needed to optimize intralogistics.
This flow management issue concerns both major logistics players and those with smaller structures.
The Master Data Analyzer Vision is the latest of many application solutions that Sick has developed for digitizing material flow and supply chains.
The traceability system is used at goods-in by industrial and commercial companies to capture master data and scan incoming parcels.
In a single work step, the system not only records the dimensions, weight and 1D or 2D marking of a delivered parcel in a matter of seconds, but also, with the integrated instant vision sensor, records a 3D color image documenting the parcel's condition.
In this way, the Master Data Analyzer Vision generates a digital duplicate of each incoming parcel, whose data can be used via host interfaces for automated material flow processes and in master ERP systems or applications.
The all-in-one solution in a nutshell:
- Drastically reduces data entry time
- Optimizes warehousing
- Optimize shipment packaging
- Includes 3D snapshot camera, code-reading camera, scale and processing software.
- Intuitive, robust design with maintenance-free mechanics.
